Bio:
| Nancy Agnew is a co-founder of Move With Elan, a practice of the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education, and a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitionercm (GCFP). Nancy’s interest in the Feldenkrais Method grew out of her interest in deepening her teaching of the martial arts, primarily Karate but also Taijiquan. Training for 11 years in Karate and over 10 in Taiji, she was awarded the rank of Sandan (3rd degree black belt) by Grandmaster Eizo Shimabukuro of Okinawan Shorin-ryu Karate and participated in the Magic Tortoise School of Taijiquan’s Teacher Training Program. Her particular interest lies in the partnered Taiji form: San Shou (Yang style), in which the two players create a flowing conversation of martial energy. Additionally, Nancy is an avid choral singer, participating in the Choral Society of Durham for 20 years and presenting monthly Feldenkrais workshops to her fellow choristers. Nancy is intrigued with understanding the individual puzzles her Feldenkrais students bring, whether the student is dealing with a spinal dysfunction, is seeking to improve his cross-body movement for ballroom dancing, or is searching for skeletal connections to generate and express powerful movements. Nancy is a member of the Feldenkrais Guild® of North America. |
